Weatherford Board Sends New High School Bond to February Ballot, Requires 60 Percent Approval

The Penny News 1026

Weatherford, OK – The Weatherford School Board unanimously approved placing a proposal for a new Weatherford High School campus before district voters on February 10, 2026 during a special meeting Tuesday morning.

Voters will see two separate propositions on the ballot, as required by state law. The first proposition covers construction of a new high school campus, including the main academic building, practice fields, an independent gymnasium, and an agricultural facility, with an estimated cost of $83 million. With financing, the total project is expected to reach just over 201 million dollars.

The second proposition is for new school transportation, with a projected cost of $500 thousand.

Both measures will require at least 60 percent voter approval to pass, the threshold for school bond proposals in Oklahoma. These two items will be the only measures on the February ballot.
